Position Overview:
As a Health and Safety Professional, you will play a crucial role in fostering a safe and secure working environment for our team. The ideal candidate should possess 3-4 years of hands-on experience in health and safety within the civil construction industry. This position requires a proactive, organized, energetic, and personable individual who is committed to promoting a culture of safety excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive health and safety programs in accordance with industry standards and regulations.
  2. Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
  3. Collaborate with project managers, site supervisors, and subcontractors to promote a proactive safety culture.
  4. Provide ongoing safety training and awareness programs for all employees, emphasizing the importance of safe work practices.
  5. Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, and develop strategies to prevent recurrence.
  6. Keep abreast of industry trends, updates in safety regulations, and best practices to continuously improve the company's safety standards.
Qualifications:
  • 3-4 years of experience in health and safety, preferably in the civil construction industry.
  • Knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation, codes, and standards.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Energetic and personable with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with Vancouver's construction landscape is advantageous.
