Project Coordinator - ICI & Retail

We are partnered with a reputable ICI general contractor within the new build market, who are looking for a enthusiastic project coordinator to join their team. 
 
Project coordinators help the project teams manage resources and information and assist with scheduling and planning meetings and project activities. The project coordinator role may include additional duties and responsibilities and require expertise in a specific area.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in plan and specification analysis to provide clear, trackable, and coordinated interpretations of the design/drawings for construction.
  • Preparation of project deliverables including tracking and creating of templates and logs for RFIs, Change Orders, transmitting and tracking of submittals, composing agreements, and maintaining project expediting lists.
  • Assist in monitoring the construction schedule to deliver the project on time and under budget
  • Administration and management of subcontracts including subcontractor compliance, tracking of changes and deliverables.
  • Obtain and update quotes and budget line items
  • Responsible for document control: maintaining electronic filing systems, subcontracts-quotes, spread comparisons and contracts, updated drawings
  • Prepare, maintain, and update project meeting minutes, monthly progress reports highlighting schedule impacts, EOT’s and critical deadlines
  • Prepare and issue Change Orders, RFI’s, PO’s, Contracts-to be signed by the PM’s
  • Advise Project Manager of potential problems, and assist in resolving issues
  • Prepare Health and Safety Job Box and site signage for new job sites
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Certificate in Construction Management
  • Minimum of two years of construction experience or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience
  • Excellent knowledge of construction, contracts management and estimating.
  • Knowledge of Ontario Building Code procedures
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to deal effectively with a heavy volume of projects.
  • Ability to support the project team and help overcome problematic situations.
  • Working knowledge of scheduling, project management and contract software
  • Qualification in project management is an asset
