Experienced Senior Bookkeeper (Construction & Engineering)

Join a forward-thinking and diverse engineering firm with decades of experience serving the Ontario market. With a dedicated team of approximately 45 employees and a portfolio of ancillary corporate entities, including a subsidiary company.

They are currently seeking a talented Senior Bookkeeper to oversee all financial operations for their primary company and affiliated entities. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to:

• Handle accounts receivable and accounts payable transactions with precision and efficiency
• Ensure timely vendor payments and maintain accurate accounts receivable records
• Manage bi-weekly payroll processing for our main operating company
• Perform month-end bank reconciliations and other vital financial reconciliations
• Ensure the proper execution and balance of inter-company transactions
• Maintain a meticulous and organized financial filing system
• Establish preliminary year-end financial records for review by our corporate accountant
• Prepare insightful financial reports and related documentation as requested by management

To excel in this role, you'll need:

• A college or university associate degree in accounting
• At least 5 years of experience in senior bookkeeping or accounts administration within a corporate environment
• Proficiency in office procedures and the accounting cycle, including A/R, A/P, Payroll, Reconciliations, Trial Balance, Financial Statements, and year-end procedures
• Knowledge of CRA and other government reporting procedures (HST, T4s, ROEs, WSIB, EHT, etc.)
• Extensive experience with QuickBooks Desktop, including a deep understanding of its capabilities and features
• Proficiency in MS Office software
• Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills
