Design Manager – Leading Main Contractor – North West UK.

Design Manager required for a leading main contractor in the North West of England. My client are experts in their field and they are now seeking an experienced Design Manager to join them on a permanent basis.

About the role:

As the Design Manager, you will work closely with the Project Lead and will oversee and manage the design process. The successful candidate will work on both pre-construction and construction stages and will be responsible for the Design and Delivery processes. You will be based in North West England.

Excellent communication and commercial skills are required for this role and the successful candidate will possess significant experience in a similar role.


  • Oversee and Manage the design process.
  • Attend prequalification interviews and presentations as and when required.
  • Lead design development meetings during the tender process.
  • Drive innovative and cost-effective solutions into the design.
  • Work within a set timescale and ensure information delivery dates are met.
  • Review of all design proposals.
  • Ability to present ideas effectively to large and small groups.

Qualifications and Key Skills:

  • Must hold a relevant qualification (Degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline).
  • Knowledge of full MS Office Suite.
  • High Degree of commercial awareness.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Previous experience of management and leadership for a significant period of time.
