Senior Planner – High Rise Residential Development – Canary Wharf

The Focus of this role is for the candidate to come on baord for the next 7 months of an already estabilished project with the view of them moving over to a brand new site and project for 2020, which has a significant number of years until completion.

About the Role: The ideal candidate will preferably have a Degree in Construction Management or a related discipline with a sound knowledge of on-site construction processes. A varied experience in various methods of construction is preferable, especially RC Frame. Reporting directly into Construction Director, overseeing planning of this particular site.

Key responsibilities

  • Create, monitor and review Construction schedules and plans
  • Produce Access and Logistics Plans and Mark-up drawings to show construction phasing
  • Liaise with the Project Manager, Site team and Design team to discuss progress and address any issues that arise through the length of the project
  • Work closely with the procurement team with regards to the procurement of materials and packages and provide timescales
  • Liaise with the Client’s project team, external consultants, sub-contractors and suppliers to plan and phase the project
  • Produce short-term (look-ahead) programmes for the site team every 2 weeks
  • Weekly progress reporting to the Construction Director / PM’s on all live projects
  • Present programmes and updates in Project Progress reviews with Client
  • Conduct delay and forensic analysis to assist the Commercial team with financial claims
  • Create Cash Flow forecasts and Earned Value analysis
  • Produce tender plans to support bids

  • Planning skills in a range of packages (ASTA / MS)
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • A knowledge of Architecture / Building Construction / Surveying
  • Sound knowledge of construction processes and management

  • Knowledge of Construction, Health and Safety regulations and Environmental regulations

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5yrs Experience in similar role
  • Construction Degree
