Senior Quantity Surveyor – Leading House Builder – Surrey/Hampshire

About the Role; Our client is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to take full commercial responsibility and ownership of a project/s, working closely with the Head of Commercial and the whole project team to ensure the project is delivered successfully, while maintaining relationships and maximising commercial returns and managing risks. Reporting to the Head of Commercial you will also be actively engaged with the project teams.

  • Liaising with clients, subcontractors & consultants.
  • Assume the responsibility for and administer all project commercial & contractual issues including but not limited to:
  • From tender award compile & agree commercial strategy, communicate and follow within the Commercial & Construction teams, amend as required during the project.
  • Conclude timely setting of formal commercial budget, monitor and review accordingly.
  • Carry out such duties to ensure proper accurate commercial performance, timely compliance with company procedures & reports, fully integrate within the site team & delivery requirements including but not limited to * Prelims- establish & maintain influence/controls/monitoring.
  • Preparing tenders, analysing, selecting appropriate capable s/c & finalising s/c orders, financial & commercially manage to Final Acc completion.
  • Consider Sc suitability and obtain suitable security at all times
  • Prepare & present forecasts, targets & CV reconciliations.-taking full responsibility for and maintain an independent view in commercial reporting in accordance with Policy
  • Follow the prescribed timings for Applications, Invoicing and Payments- both internal and external. Ensure certificates & Invoices are raised & chase/track payments.
  • Ensure updated projected Final Accs provided regularly and prepare, submit & agree Final Acc in a timely manner.
  • Provide feedback and suggestions on project matters to estimators
  • Liaise with and commercially influence/challenge all members of the individual teams and the construction process.
  • Understand Contractual obligations
  • Review project risk/opportunity schedule and monitor for changes.
  • Manage & oversee the junior commercial staff.
  • Insure that timely and accurate reports are issued
