RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead a team of junior engineers. Strong collaboration and leadership required
- Maintain and promote a strong safety culture for all employees, vendors, and customers. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions
- Assist with contract management: initial conversations through final project close-out, ensuring timely review and reconciliation/approval of variations within established guidelines and in accordance with division and company policies and procedures. Verify final product meets contract requirements
- Create and update short-term project schedules using P6
- Generate relevant Request for Information (RFI), submittals and working plans
- Generate subcontract work packages including, scopes of work, drawings and specifications and assist in the evaluation of proposals and awarding of subcontract work
- Manage subcontractors during operations, ensure compliance with execution plans, schedule, coordinate all logistics require to perform their job, review sub-contractor scope in detail and highlighted during kick-off meetings and another regular operation meeting with sub, review and verify all sub payments, change order, and claims.
REQUIREMENTS
- 5-10 years of related construction experience with contractors; Preference to those who have been involved with microtunneling/trenchless, urban tunneling, or urban heavy civil infrastructure with major underground work scopes.
DESIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with project stakeholders including third-party consultants, client liaisons, regulators, and team members in the field.
- Strong proficiency with specialized software Primavera P6, MS Project and Bluebeam
- Natural leadership propensity with the ability to influence and mentor junior technical team members.
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent coursework in Civil or Mining Engineering
- Must be a licensed P. Eng in good standing with APEGA or currently registered as an Engineer-In-Training.
