My Client is an award winning, highly innovative M&E Engineering Consultancy who are seeking an Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to undertake design work and technical project co-ordination in their Dublin office.
The successful Principal Mechanical Engineer will lead a busy team providing design and technical services on various project types, including but not limited to Urbanism, Industrial, High Tech, Commercial and Health Care developments.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Lead the Mechanical Services design for a range of projects
- Design and specification of mechanical services for various types of buildings and sectors
- Production of detailed Schematics
- Develop the mechanical design standards within the organisation
- Mentoring of junior engineering staff
- Provide fully detailed tender packages and monitor installation/quality on site until project completion
- Tender report / analysis / recommendations
- Develop project scope with design team / client
- Produce budgets and reports for clients
- The role will be primarily office based but will involve some site attendances
- Be capable of taking the lead on projects with minimal input from management team
Education & Experience:
- The successful Principal Mechanical Engineer will have a Minimum Degree qualification in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering.
- Minimum of 10+ years of Mechanical Building Services Consultancy Design experience.
- Chartered status a distinct advantage.
- Knowledge & experience working with Revit, exposure to mechanical layouts and systems.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, REVIT.
- Familiar with structural, architectural, and electrical models to appreciate space limitations and interferences.
- Demonstrate an ability to work in a fast-paced environment driven by project deadlines.
- Highly innovative and motivated with an attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to communicate effectively with both internal and external clients.
- Knowledge of ETCI, CIBSE, IEC, BS, IS and EN Standards
