My Client is an award winning, highly innovative M&E Engineering Consultancy who are seeking an Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to undertake design work and technical project co-ordination in their Dublin office.
The successful Principal Mechanical Engineer will lead a busy team providing design and technical services on various project types, including but not limited to Urbanism, Industrial, High Tech, Commercial and Health Care developments.
  
Knowledge & Skills:

  • Lead the Mechanical Services design for a range of projects
  • Design and specification of mechanical services for various types of buildings and sectors
  • Production of detailed Schematics
  • Develop the mechanical design standards within the organisation
  • Mentoring of junior engineering staff
  • Provide fully detailed tender packages and monitor installation/quality on site until project completion
  • Tender report / analysis / recommendations
  • Develop project scope with design team / client
  • Produce budgets and reports for clients
  • The role will be primarily office based but will involve some site attendances
  • Be capable of taking the lead on projects with minimal input from management team

Education & Experience:

  • The successful Principal Mechanical Engineer will have a Minimum Degree qualification in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of Mechanical Building Services Consultancy Design experience.
  • Chartered status a distinct advantage.
  • Knowledge & experience working with Revit, exposure to mechanical layouts and systems.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, REVIT.
  • Familiar with structural, architectural, and electrical models to appreciate space limitations and interferences.
  • Demonstrate an ability to work in a fast-paced environment driven by project deadlines.
  • Highly innovative and motivated with an attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to communicate effectively with both internal and external clients.
  • Knowledge of ETCI, CIBSE, IEC, BS, IS and EN Standards
