Job Overview:
The Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations across our portfolio of construction projects and properties. The Accounting Manager will lead and mentor the accounting team, implement process enhancements, and deliver valuable financial insights that support the company’s growth and overall financial health.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage, mentor, and supervise junior accountants.
• Prepare project job cost reports, including cost tracking, budgeting, and forecasting for construction projects and properties.
• Collaborate with project and development teams, property managers and other departments to provide financial support and ensure alignment with overall business objectives.
• Handle all aspects of project and property accounting with minimal supervision.
• Prepare, review and analyse monthly financial statements of multi-companies, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Prepare monthly tax filing and remittances (e.g. GST, WCB etc.).
• Prepare year-end working papers and liaise with auditors to ensure compliance with regulatory and audit requirements.
• Prepare annual CAM and Property Tax recovery reconciliation and billings.
• Enter construction and property budgets in Sage 300.
• Experience with payroll an asset.

  
Qualifications:

• CPA designation is strongly preferred, or progress towards or completion of an accounting designation.
• 7+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
• Experience in project accounting and property management is mandatory.
• Experience with  Microsoft Office and accounting software (e.g., Sage300 and Buildium).
