Position: CADD Technician - Civil Infrastructure
Location: Downtown Toronto (Hybrid)
Salary: $60k - $75k
The CADD Technician will play a key role in supporting the engineering design team by preparing detailed drawings, plans, and design documents for civil infrastructure projects. Working closely with engineers and project managers, the technician will be responsible for transforming conceptual designs and field data into accurate and compliant technical drawings using industry-standard software.
Job Duties and Responsibilities: - Develop and revise 2D and 3D design drawings for civil engineering projects, including roads, highways, tunnels, drainage, grading, and utilities.
- Ensure that all drawings comply with applicable municipal, provincial, and federal standards, as well as company drafting procedures.
- Collaborate with engineers to interpret design intent and incorporate technical markups or field revisions.
- Assist in the preparation of quantity take-offs, plan and profile sheets, and construction details.
- Maintain organized drawing files and documentation for each project phase.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure drawing accuracy and consistency.
Qualifications: - Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, Drafting, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in CADD drafting for civil or transportation projects (experience in Canada preferred).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and familiarity with MicroStation, Open Roads, or similar platforms.
- Experience using GIS software and tools is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and compliance with design standards.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet project deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Experience with MTO standards and drafting requirements.
- Exposure to roadway design, utilities design, and site grading plans.
- Basic understanding of 3D modeling or BIM integration for civil infrastructure.
