About This Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer (m/f/d) specializing in infrastructure and structural planning for onshore wind projects to join our Project Delivery team in Germany. This permanent position involves leading the structural planning workstreams, coordinating interdisciplinary teams, managing external consultants, and ensuring high quality across the project's lifecycle. Office locations include Hamburg, Berlin, and Mainz.
 
What You Will Do
  • Lead all civil engineering aspects in the development and construction phases of onshore wind projects, including preliminary studies, permitting, tendering, and execution.
  • Collaborate closely with internal experts and external specialists to develop integrated, cost-effective civil infrastructure solutions.
  • Conduct site assessments, technical due diligence, risk and opportunity analyses.
  • Evaluate foundation types, develop transport and access route studies, plan initial road layouts and Balance of Plant (BoP) infrastructure.
  • Prepare, review, and approve construction cost estimates as part of economic project evaluations.
  • Manage and coordinate external specialists for transport studies, geotechnical investigations, foundation designs, and independent plan reviews.
  • Perform site inspections in early project phases and quality checks during and after construction.
  • Oversee technical content of tender and contract documents related to BoP and turbine packages.
  • Lead technical negotiations in turbine supply agreements focusing on civil requirements and their integration into BoP contracts.
  • Review bids during tender phases and manage interface coordination among contracting parties.
  • Optimize BoP designs with regard to economic and site feasibility considerations.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards according to company guidelines.
  • Share expertise and collaborate with colleagues to advance BoP infrastructure knowledge.
 
What We're Looking For
  • Master's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in civil engineering planning, preferably in onshore wind or similar infrastructure sectors.
  • Proven expertise in foundation engineering, road and drainage planning, cable installation, transport and logistics, geotechnical and geological evaluations, hydrology.
  • Experience preparing and negotiating BoP contracts.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to evaluate the added value of technical solutions.
  • Skilled in preparing and reviewing technical tender and contract documents.
  • Proficient knowledge of relevant standards and technical norms.
  • Good command of AutoCAD.
  • Fluent in both German and English, spoken and written.
