A well-established and respected construction and civil engineering contractor is seeking an experienced Estimator to join its growing team based in Wakefield.
Role Overview: The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive tenders for a variety of construction and civil engineering projects. The role involves taking off quantities, producing Bills of Quantities, and ensuring all estimates are delivered on time and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities: - Preparation and production of Bills of Quantities (BoQ) and detailed cost estimates.
- Analysis of drawings, specifications, and tender documentation.
- Obtaining competitive quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Liaising with project managers, clients, and design teams.
- Supporting value engineering and cost planning activities throughout the project lifecycle.
Candidate Requirements: - Proven experience as an Estimator within construction or civil engineering.
- Strong understanding of Bills of Quantities, take-offs, and estimating software.
- Excellent numerical accuracy and analytical ability.
- Capable of working independently and collaboratively within a commercial team.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
