Construction Estimator – ICI Projects (GTHA)
Salary: $90,000 – $120,000 (commensurate with experience)

A well-established general contractor specializing in Institutional, Commercial, and Industrial (ICI) construction is seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to join their growing team. With a strong portfolio of work that includes numerous school builds and upgrades, the firm is known for delivering high-quality projects across a diverse range of ICI sectors.
Position Overview:
The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate, detailed cost estimates for both new construction and renovation projects within the ICI sector. You’ll play a key role in the preconstruction process, working closely with project managers, subcontractors, and consultants to ensure competitive and thorough bid submissions.
Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed and accurate estimates.
• Coordinate and manage the full tendering process including bid solicitation, scope review, and proposal submission.
• Conduct quantity takeoffs and develop pricing based on historical data and current market rates.
• Build and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing.
• Collaborate with the project management team to transition successful bids into project execution.
• Participate in value engineering, scope clarification, and risk assessment discussions.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in estimating, with a focus on ICI construction.
• Proven experience estimating projects in the $1M–$20M+ range.
• Strong understanding of local construction practices, costs, and codes.
• Proficient in estimating software (e.g., PlanSwift, Bluebeam, Excel).
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
