I'm currently partnering with a reputable General Contractor to find an Estimator for their team based in North York.
 
About the Client:

My client is a well-established General Contractor specializing in commercial construction projects across the GTA. Their portfolio is focused on quick service restaurant (QSR) builds and renovations, retail fit-outs, and office interior projects. Known for delivering fast-paced, high-quality work, they have built strong, long-term relationships with repeat clients and brands.
 
The Opportunity:

This is an excellent opportunity for an Estimator who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working on high-volume, quick-turnaround commercial projects. The company offers a collaborative culture and potential flexibility with a hybrid work arrangement.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial projects including QSR, retail, and office interiors
• Review drawings, specifications, and tender documents to determine project scope
• Perform accurate quantity take-offs and pricing of labour, materials, and equipment
• Solicit, analyze, and level subcontractor and supplier quotations
• Identify risks, gaps, and value engineering opportunities during the bid process
• Work closely with project managers through pre-construction and project handoff
• Attend site visits, pre-bid meetings, and client walkthroughs as needed
• Assist in the preparation and submission of competitive bids and proposals

Qualifications

• 2-5+ years of experience in construction estimating
• Experience with commercial interior projects (QSR, retail, office) preferred
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and sequencing
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
• Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple tenders in a deadline-driven environment

Looking For:

• Experience working with branded retail or QSR clients
• Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
