Mechanical Designer – Vancouver

A leading multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is seeking a Mechanical Designer to join its Vancouver office. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a collaborative and innovative team, contributing to mechanical design projects from schematic design through to construction. The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical background, a proactive mindset, and excellent communication and organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design of mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and building controls
• Conduct system design calculations and perform equipment selections
• Prepare contract drawings and technical documentation
• Coordinate with internal team members and external consultants across disciplines
• Ensure adherence to internal quality management standards and procedures

Key Skills & Experience:

• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, IESve, HAP, and Microsoft Office
• Strong understanding of current building codes, standards, and technical developments
• Clear and professional verbal and written communication
• Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment

Qualifications:

• P.Eng. or Professional Technologist designation preferred, but not mandatory
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant mechanical design experience (including co-op terms)
• Experience or certification in sustainable design (e.g., LEED®, Passive House) is an asset
