We’re seeking an Operations & Safety Manager to join a reputable underground utility contractor based in Langley. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in field operations and safety management to take ownership of day-to-day project delivery while driving a culture of safety, accountability, and performance.
Reporting to the President.
Key Responsibilities: Operations Management
- Oversee daily field operations across multiple underground utility projects
- Lead and support foremen and crews to ensure productivity, quality, and efficiency targets are met
- Coordinate scheduling, resource planning, and equipment allocation
- Work closely with Project Managers and Estimators to ensure seamless project execution and client satisfaction
- Identify opportunities to improve field operations and streamline project delivery
- Develop, implement, and maintain the company’s safety management system
- Conduct safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations
- Provide mentorship and leadership to the safety team and site supervisors
- Ensure compliance with WorkSafeBC regulations and COR certification requirements
- Foster a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement across all levels of the organization
- 5+ years of experience in civil construction, ideally in underground utilities, excavation, or infrastructure
- Strong leadership background managing both operations and safety functions
- Proven track record of improving safety performance and operational efficiency
- Excellent communication and team-building skills
- Solid understanding of WorkSafeBC requirements and safety standards
- CSO, NCSO, or equivalent safety designation preferred
- Competitive salary ($100K–$130K+, depending on experience)
