Are you a strong people leader who thrives in a fast-paced civil construction environment?


We’re seeking an Operations & Safety Manager to join a reputable underground utility contractor based in Langley. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in field operations and safety management to take ownership of day-to-day project delivery while driving a culture of safety, accountability, and performance.

 
Reporting to the President.

Key Responsibilities: Operations Management

  • Oversee daily field operations across multiple underground utility projects
  • Lead and support foremen and crews to ensure productivity, quality, and efficiency targets are met
  • Coordinate scheduling, resource planning, and equipment allocation
  • Work closely with Project Managers and Estimators to ensure seamless project execution and client satisfaction
  • Identify opportunities to improve field operations and streamline project delivery
Health & Safety Leadership
  • Develop, implement, and maintain the company’s safety management system
  • Conduct safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations
  • Provide mentorship and leadership to the safety team and site supervisors
  • Ensure compliance with WorkSafeBC regulations and COR certification requirements
  • Foster a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement across all levels of the organization
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in civil construction, ideally in underground utilities, excavation, or infrastructure
  • Strong leadership background managing both operations and safety functions
  • Proven track record of improving safety performance and operational efficiency
  • Excellent communication and team-building skills
  • Solid understanding of WorkSafeBC requirements and safety standards
  • CSO, NCSO, or equivalent safety designation preferred
