Location: Edmonton, Alberta Full-Time | Permanent Salary: $110K+ (Experience Dependent)

Our client is a well-established civil construction contractor with a strong reputation for delivering complex infrastructure projects across Western Canada. With decades of experience and a focus on the industrial sector, they are now seeking a Project Manager / Estimator to join their team.

This is a dual-role opportunity, ideally suited for an experienced professional who thrives in the fast-paced world of project delivery but also has a sharp eye for estimating and preconstruction planning. During the busy construction season, you’ll lead projects on the ground. In the off-season, you'll support estimating and bidding efforts for upcoming work.

 Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and oversee civil construction projects from start to finish, ensuring schedules, budgets, and safety standards are met.
  • Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, site personnel, and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Monitor project progress, prepare reports, and proactively address issues or delays.
  • Lead project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and forecasting.
  • Transition into an estimating role during slower months, preparing cost estimates, RFQs, and proposals for upcoming projects.
  • Analyze project specs, drawings, and technical documents to accurately scope and price work.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with suppliers and subcontractors for cost inputs.
✅ Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of project management experience in civil construction—ideally in industrial settings such as oil & gas, utilities, mining, or heavy infrastructure.
  • Proven ability to manage complex construction projects in remote or logistically challenging environments.
  • Strong understanding of civil scopes (earthworks, underground utilities, grading, site development, etc.)
  • Previous experience with estimating or a strong interest in transitioning into that function.
  • Ability to lead teams effectively while managing budgets and timelines.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
 Why Join?
  • Opportunity to work with a reputable contractor known for its safety, quality, and long-term project success.
  • Work on meaningful industrial infrastructure projects that have lasting impact.
  • Gain well-rounded experience in both project management and estimating—ideal for professionals seeking year-round engagement and career growth.
