About the Client: Our client is a multi-award-winning bespoke joinery fit-out and manufacturing specialist based in Hertfordshire. Delivering results to both commercial and private clients, they’re responsible for designing, manufacturing and installing some of the most intricate, detailed and prestigious joinery in the South-East.

About the Role:  They’re looking for a skilled professional, with an astute commercial mind and a high attention to detail that wants to grow and develop with the company. The right candidate will be have a comprehensive knowledge of carpentry and joinery and have detailed experience within the industry. You will be able to fulfil QS and Commercial duties on projects ranging in size from £10k to £5m.
  
About the Responsibilities:
  • Manage change control, identify pricing, and negotiate variations
  • Assisting with cost to completes and cost value reconciliations on projects
  • Raise applications for payments and negotiate / agree with clients
  • Provide commercial input in to production and monitor / update project programmes
  • Liaise with clients and suppliers to build on relationships
  • Work alongside Procurement Manager to procure materials and subcontracts
  • Provide contractual and commercial advice to all areas of the business
  • Assist the Estimating department and provide Commercial input and estimate preparation where necessary
  • Be available to work both at head office and various site locations as and when required.
  
Key skills:
  • Proven track record in quantity surveying with at least 5 years’ experience.
  • Detailed fit out and joinery experience.
  • Excellent commercial and financial knowledge and budgetary skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail orientated.
  • A strong team-player.
  • A drive to succeed.
  • The ability to communicate with clients and suppliers.
  • Flexible working attitude.
  • Ability to present the company in a professional manner.
  • Computer literate - be open to new technologies and innovation.
  
About the Qualifications
  • A levels / Higher education
  • RICS qualification, or working towards
  • CSCS

Details: The role will be based primarily at Head Office, however site visits will be required from time to time and the opportunity to work from home for some of the time can be discussed.
