Overview: An established and growing real estate development firm is seeking a
Senior Corporate Accountant to join their dynamic finance team. Reporting directly to the Controller, this individual will play a key role in financial reporting, consolidations, budgeting, and process improvements across the corporate finance function. Key Responsibilities: - Lead the month-end and year-end close processes for corporate entities, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
- Prepare and review consolidated financial statements in accordance with ASPE/IFRS
- Manage intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and eliminations
- Coordinate and liaise with external auditors for year-end audits and tax filings
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for corporate overheads
- Provide financial analysis to support executive decision-making
- Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting policies
- Collaborate cross-functionally with project accounting and development teams
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices
Qualifications: - Minimum 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior corporate or financial reporting role
- CPA designation a benefit (CA, CGA, or CMA)
- Experience in real estate development, construction, or a project-based industry preferred
- Strong technical knowledge of ASPE or IFRS
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with accounting software (e.g., Yardi, Sage, JD Edwards, or similar)
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
