Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – Building Services
Location: Melbourne | Full-Time

A leading Tier 1 building services contractor is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their Melbourne-based engineering team. This is an opportunity to work on large-scale commercial, healthcare, education, and infrastructure projects across Victoria.

In this role, you will lead the mechanical design process from concept through to construction, working closely with project engineers, BIM teams, and external consultants. You’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality, compliant HVAC designs while mentoring junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead mechanical HVAC design for major building services projects
• Produce and review detailed design documentation and calculations
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with Australian Standards, NCC, and client specifications
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship within the design team

About You:

• Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering
• 7+ years’ experience in building services / HVAC design
• Strong knowledge of Australian standards and local construction practices
• Experience delivering complex commercial projects
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
