About the Opportunity

A well-established and fast-growing multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is looking to bring on a Senior Municipal Engineer to support the growth of its municipal infrastructure practice across Ontario.

Known for delivering streamlined and practical construction engineering solutions, the firm is expanding its technical and operational leadership to meet increasing project demands.

This position will be based out of one of the firm’s Ontario offices (GTA/Guelph/Kitchener areas) with flexible hybrid work options available.

The successful candidate will play a key role in project delivery, client management, and team development within the linear infrastructure group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently develop engineering designs for municipal infrastructure including roads, stormwater, drainage, hydrology, and utilities.
  • Produce design deliverables such as calculations, drawings, specifications, procurement and installation packages, technical reports, and proposal evaluations.
  • Prepare permit documentation, quantity calculations, and cost estimates.
  • Perform and review detailed engineering analyses to ensure the accuracy and quality of technical reports and designs.
  • Lead the planning, design, and execution of infrastructure projects in compliance with municipal regulations and standards.
  • Oversee budgets, forecasting, and resource allocation for assigned projects.
  • Participate in council meetings and interface with regulatory agencies, municipalities, and other stakeholders.
  • Support business development efforts and mentor technical staff within the linear infrastructure group.
Qualifications
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario (required).
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in municipal or civil engineering 
  • Proven ability to lead engineering projects independently from design to delivery.
  • Strong knowledge of municipal design standards and permitting requirements.
  • Proficient with civil and drainage design software.
  • Experience with some of the following is considered an asset:
  • AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation V8i, Geopak, InRoads, StormCAD, EPA-SWMM, ArcGIS, HydroCAD, CivilStorm, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, SMS with SRH-2D, or similar tools.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to mentor and manage junior engineers.
  • Experience working with project controls and reporting platforms such as Deltek, Excel, Power BI.
