Staff Accountant
Location: Vancouver, BC (Hybrid)
Salary: $65,000 +

We are working with a well-established civil construction contractor seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join their growing finance team. This is a hybrid role offering exposure to construction accounting, project cost tracking, and month-end processes within a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
• Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance
• They use Spectrum accounting software
• Support project cost accounting, including job costing and variance analysis
• Process accounts payable and receivable
• Assist with payroll support and reconciliations (25 management, 120 craft)
• Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation
• Support budgeting and forecasting activities
• Work closely with project teams to ensure financial accuracy and cost control
• Assist with audit preparation and compliance requirements

Qualifications & Experience:

• Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 1–3 years of accounting experience (construction experience is an asset, not a requirement)
• Working toward CPA designation preferred
• Strong Excel skills; experience with accounting or ERP systems an asset
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a deadline-driven environment
