Location: British Columbia
Experience Level: Intermediate (4-8 years)
Compensation: $106,000-$122,000 (commensurate with experience)
 
Our client is a well-established, employee-owned consulting engineering firm seeking a Stormwater Engineer to join their growing stormwater and water resources team. This role is ideal for a technically strong engineer who is passionate about delivering practical, sustainable stormwater solutions and enjoys working closely with municipal clients on complex, multi-benefit infrastructure projects.
 
The team supports projects ranging from site-specific developments to watershed-scale planning, with a strong focus on flood protection, conveyance, water quality improvement, and innovative green infrastructure solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare master drainage plans, watershed-scale and site-based integrated stormwater management plans, and capital plans
  • Work collaboratively with municipal clients on drainage and stormwater design projects
  • Develop concept, preliminary, and detailed designs for:
    • Green infrastructure in urban and suburban settings
    • Culverts, detention ponds, storm sewers, and related stormwater facilities
  • Train, mentor, and supervise junior engineering staff
  • Lead and contribute to technical reports and proposals
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in British Columbia or another Canadian province
  • 4-8 years of experience in stormwater, water resources, hydrology/hydraulics, or related disciplines
  • Proficiency with SWMM-based software, HEC-RAS, or similar modeling tools
  • Experience with ESRI ArcGIS considered an asset
  • Design and construction experience on stormwater or infrastructure projects
  • Strong technical writing and report preparation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment
  • Proactive, client-focused mindset with an interest in innovative problem-solving
  • Valid driver's license and ability to conduct field work as required, including travel to remote or outdoor sites in varying weather and terrain
