I am working with a National South East General Contractor. They service the residential and hospitality industries by providing an array of construction services for all types of projects.

They are looking for a Traveling Project Manager/Superintendent to join their team. They offer quite competitive compensation packages. They look after their employees very well and boast a very low staff turnover as a result.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Responsible for assigning work to all subcontractors.
  • Implements and enforces policies, procedures and related work rules.
  • Take proactive measures in maintaining proper project housekeeping duties.
  • Working with the project team, assisting in the development of the project schedule and ensure that the project schedule is maintained.
  • Supervises and directs subordinate non-manual personnel, as assigned.
  • Assists superintendents in the preparation of construction methods, schedules, manning charts, material and equipment requirements.
  • Ensures safety standard and requirements are implemented and adhered to by trades and others when in the operational area, tools and equipment are in a safe condition and operated safely.
  • Ensuring that all work carried out and completed in accordance with quality standards and contract specifications.
  • Resolving and clarifying design issues.
  • Prepares reports and forecasts, as required and keeps supervisors informed on the progress of overall assigned activities.
  • Identifying and resolving field issues and change orders.
  • Documenting each phase of the project.

Qualifications

  • A bachelors of science degree in an Engineering discipline, Engineering Technology or Construction Management or Construction Technology, or equivalent work experience
  • Knowledge of Engineering principles
  • 5 – 10 years of experience in Multi-family/assisted living renovation experience
  • Ability to communicate clearly both writing and verbally
  • Familiar with basic business principles and practices sufficient to project and monitor expenses
  • Experience with construction projects, mechanical/electrical systems, building materials or working with trade workers
  • Ability to be able to read and interpret technical specifications, technical manuals, blueprints, material/product installation instructions and engineering/architectural drawings
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6
