About the client: Our client was founded just over 20 years ago and have grown to be a leading and respected contractor. They are capable of undertaking works packages across Civils, RC Frame, Groundworks and Rail projects. They recently increased their capabilities to include RC Frame projects across London and have some leading senior staff with significant expertise.
 
About the Role: You will be responsible for developing and managing all aspects of an effective quality management system. Your duties will include;

  • Maintaining the company management systems and carrying out internal auditing (SMS, EMS, QMS & EnMS)
  • Preparing and leading audits with external bodies such as: Integrated Management System audits, RISQS, Building Confidence, National Energy/Gas Industry/Water Industry Registration Scheme (GIRS, NERS, WIRS), Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme etc.
  • Management of the approved supplier and subcontractor database.
  • Drafting of annual Management Review meeting minutes.
  • Delivering the Quality induction which explains the company’s management systems and procedures to all new starters.
  • Monitor both subcontractors and internal QMS processes and prepare clear and accurate reports following site visits by accurately recording any non-compliant works or processes.
  • Ensure that all sites activities are carried out according to approved QA standards.
  • Conduct final quality inspections of projects before they are handed over to the client, and put into place any remedial action required prior to handover
  • Support and enhance company performance by analysing and assessing quality control and assurance data
  • Undertake other duties commensurate with the level of this position
  • Comply with Company polices & procedures

About the requirements

  • Experience dealing with Quality within the construction industry
  • Very good understanding of Quality processes and procedures
  • Able to understand and ensure compliance with applicable client/project specifications and requirements.
  • Interpersonal skills to deal effectively with people at all levels internally and externally.
  • Ability to interrogate and provide recommendations in relation to all quality related issues.
  • Demonstrates complete focus and determination to achieve successful outcomes. Is a self-starter, and takes the initiative in situations.
  • Learns quickly, adapting thought and action to changing business and customer demands.
  • Energised by change.
  • Ability to Prioritise tasks, manage time and meet deadlines
  • Excellent organisational skills with a strong attention to detail
