My client are a specialist glazing subcontractor who are passionate about delivering striking structural glazing including atria, roofs, feature floors, entrance canopies and glazed screens to office buildings and public places, such as sport arenas, shopping centres, airports and railway stations predominately across central London.

ROLE:
As our Quantity Surveyor, you will report to the Commercial Director, you will be responsible for all commercial aspects on a number of projects particularly income and expenditure to maximise profit margins and monitor budgets. The successful candidate will have knowledge of procurement of steel, cladding materials and glass and should be able to source various rain screen types and an understanding of curtain walling would be an advantage.
RESPONSIBILITES:
- Preparation of project budgets, checking projects contracts, administering project contracts.
- Measurement of project to check quantities against tender allowances.
- Preparation of tender documents for any sub contract works and specialist suppliers.
- Set budgets for, and raise payments, for subcontract labour; manage variations as they occur; producing fortnight cost reports to their Clients.
- Ensure an awareness of their key responsibilities under the contract; ensure regular agreement of site instructions with the client.
- Ensure payments are received on time in accordance with the contractual payment terms; ensure retention monies are released when due.
- Prepare and discuss the final account for projects. Negotiate and agree final accounts with parameters set by Line Manager.
- Prepare monthly Cost Value Reports.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree in construction related subject or equivalent level.
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor at intermediate level.
- Able to deal well with people at all levels within their client as well as suppliers.
- Working knowledge of JCT 2005 & JCT 2011 contracts with and without Design Portion, D&B, and Fixed Price, and any NEC form of contracts.
Hours: Monday to Friday 8.30am – 5.30pm
