THE ROLE
My client has an exciting opportunities for Tunnel Engineers and Senior Tunnel Engineers to join their National Tunnelling business, preferably in their Sydney or Melbourne office, but noting that other locations will be considered if you bring the right skills. You will be working within a national team of 60 colleagues with specialist tunnelling expertise.
Their team are thought leaders and technical experts in their respective disciplines and deliver projects of all scales across the road, rail and utility sectors.
Further to ongoing success in the sector, they are growing their Tunnel Engineering capability to continue delivering for a diverse portfolio of clients, ranging from government, owner/operators, top-tier contractors and all the way through to safety regulators.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE
- Contribute towards timely and quality delivery of project, design, analysis, and tunnel engineering work in support of relevant technical and regulatory standards.
- Maintain effective stakeholder relationships internally, and at times externally, including clients, involving contributing expertise toward tailored, economical solutions.
- Contribute toward small-to-medium scale projects and major scale projects as delegated, and.
- Bring enthusiasm to working as part of a collaborative, national team within a multidisciplinary design setting, that is connected to their Global business.
ABOUT YOU
Ideally, my client is looking for a candidate that has the following skills and experience:
- Bachelor to Master level degree in Civil/ Structural Engineering
- Circa 2 to 10+ years of experience on tunnel engineering projects within the transport and/ or utility infrastructure sectors.
- Experience with/ exposure to space proofing, excavation sequencing, temporary support, permanent support across segmental lining, insitu concrete lining and/ rock bolts and shotcrete.
- Proficiency with producing accurate design models via Strand 7, FLAC, Plaxis and/or RocScience;
- Well versed assisting project leaders with technical and broader design delivery requirements.
- Track record of working effectively as part of multidisciplinary design teams on projects, and.
- Effective communication (written and verbal) and teamwork skills.
