Structural Team Lead – Tired of lockdowns on the mainland?
I have an exceptional opportunity for a Team Lead (Structures) to come into a well-established Tasmania consultancy. This consultancy has an exceptional reputation in the market, a lot of repeat clients and have ever expanding portfolio of projects in the pipeline for the rest of 2021 and 2022.
Given their presence in the Civil Infrastructure space, these projects are landmark projects for the area and are looking for future and current Civil Infrastructure and Structural leaders!

Maybe you are living on the mainland and are getting sick and tired of all these lockdowns in your state. There has never been a better time to relocate to Tasmania. A simply beautiful place to live and work, the dollar can also stretch a bit further too. The confidence in the market is strong in Tasmania, the government are pumping money into the projects and are relatively Covid-free.

The role will involve:

  • Manage the day-to-day running of their discipline Team ‘Home’ including technical delivery, performance management, communications, coaching, coordinate training, addressing human resource issues.
  • Business development activities such as proposals, client Liaison and identifying business opportunities.
  • Maintaining Day-to-day professional activities within the business (Engineering / Project Management).
  • Supporting QAQC Activities in conjunction with PMs and company procedures
  • Defining, recording and assigning project briefs to team members.
  • Working with the team leads in team formation, and preparation of project briefs.
  • Being the Team point of contact for other discipline Team Leads, the Engineering Manager, Project Managers and the COO.

About you and your profile for success:

  • Engineering Degree.
  • Chartered Engineer.
  • 10 + years plus in technical specialties (structural engineering).
  • Proven track record of leading teams.
  • Coaching and mentoring junior engineers and drafts people.
  • Demonstrated ability to think and act strategically.
  • Has driven innovation in service delivery through business improvement and service redesign programs.
  • Running small to medium sized projects, delivering on quality, budget, and timeline expectations.
  • Managed issue resolution processes with clients.
  • Proposal writing and bid presentations.
