We are seeking to speak with experienced wood-frame superintendents for ongoing needs in Vancouver and throughout the Lower mainland with local developers and builders for ground up mixed-use/multifamily projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Working with the Project Manager to lead on-site operations for the construction of each assigned project.
  • Communicate and liaise with Development team, Architect, Senior Executives, on site trades and subs and all other representatives ensuring a great working environment and strong lines of communication to ensure project success.
  • Devise schedule with Project Manager and update accordingly with changes as required.
  • Attend weekly meetings with subcontractors and vendors ensuring quality control, timely completion of work and adherence to implemented on-site safety protocols.
  • Provide value engineering and information for site issues as they arise working with all relevant parties to ensure the best solution.
  • Strong experience in leading teams, construction practices and procedures and building code.
  • Competent to complete and train junior staff with budget tracking, change orders, RFI’s, progress reports and contract compliance.
  • Outgoing communicator who can build and maintain a positive work environment ensuring collective achievement of goals.
  • Strong software proficiency for schedules and construction management.
  • Skilled problem solver who is highly organized and consistently hit’s project deadlines.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • 3-7 years minimum in a Superintendent role leading wood-frame residential projects – Candidates must have completed at least 2 projects start to finish for a GC or Full-Service Developer.
  • BSc in Construction Management or Engineering or equivalent years of hands-on experience in Residential/Commercial(mixed-use) fields.
  • Strong communicator both verbal and written who can build relationships with suppliers and subcontractors and all internal/external team members throughout the construction process for future benefit and immediate success.
  • Good software proficiency for schedules, value engineering and construction management use.
  • Safety first approach.
  • First Aid / CPR Training
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.
