Due to the continued success of one my multiple award-winning clients I’m currently looking to speak with all Electrical Estimators looking to take the next step within their career and join a forward-thinking and exciting company with a fantastic project portfolio throughout British Columbia.
Reporting to the Electrical Department Manager, as Electrical Estimator you will be part of a high performing and well balance team that prepare for, assemble and submit tender prices for multiple projects of varying sizes and scope. Additional responsibilities include but not limited to the following:

  • Prepare, record and maintain pricing and assist the management team in the ongoing pursuit and acquisition of construction project
  • Working within the Estimation team to perform quantity takeoffs including entry into a computerized estimating system
  • Assemble all elements of an estimate including labour, material, equipment and subcontractor pricing. Gather relevant information for labor breakdowns for each area to assist with budget creation and management of project
  • Preparation and submission documents to ensure all bid requirements are met and exceeded
  • Attend and participate in site-visits, pre-bid meeting and post-bid meeting. Ensuring all stakeholders are satisfied throughout individual projects
  • Develop individual network of new Subcontractors and Suppliers in an ongoing effort to improve company offerings
  • Chair and participate in post project reviews to identify areas of improvements or cost-saving opportunities

 Education, Skills and Knowledge:

  • 4+ years’ hands-on Electrical Estimating experience within the construction industry
  • Completion of a University Degree/Technology Diploma in Electrical Engineering, or related qualification
  • Relevant Quantity Surveyor Qualification (i.e. CEC, PQS) is highly advantageous
  • Hands’ on experience of Accubid is essential, additional experience across other packages is a benefit including Livecount and Bluebeam
  • Strong computer skills and ability to use department software is necessary
  • Previous experience with job task planning, decision making and problem-solving
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Strong prioritization skills and the ability to effectively manage multiple and sometime conflicting priorities
  • The ability to work both independently and in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities readily
