Local Real Estate Developer who has been active for over 30 years in the Vancouver and Lower Mainland markets are looking to add a Finance Director to their growing team. This is an immediate need that comes with great growth potential with one of the leading Developers in Vancouver who have a dedicated history working on mid to high-rise residential and commercial projects from downtown Vancouver to the Fraser Valley.
Role reports into the CFO – Candidates preferably coming from a Real Estate financing or Accountancy background showing increased responsibility in previous roles and a desire to attain a long-term position within the Real Estate market.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee day to day Financing/Business Operations including implementing report policies, standard operating procedures, project planning and finance evaluation.
- Manage and review cash flow for each project including closing, funding, AP & AR, processes based off budget and original projections.
- Provide support and offer advice to Senior Executives on business decisions including strategy, financing and acquisitions based on current market and past experience.
- Lead and manage relationships with business partners, financiers, banks, insurers, realtors, auditors, law partners and communicate with senior company team members on any issues throughout these processes.
- Liaise regularly with Development team providing support as required for proformas, statements, changes and closing purchases.
- Review procurement of assets as well as oversight on lease agreement numbers, sales and construction ensuring accuracy with costs.
- Eventual responsibility of self-sufficient accountancy team for internal, external and year end reports.
- Lead and liaise with other executives acquiring financing for land acquisition, development building of construction projects.
- Assist with Property Management/Tenant leasing process for cost projections and current market value.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills:
- BSc in Real Estate, Financing, Business or Accounting or other related University/Education background.
- 7-10 years progressive experience in Real Estate or Property Financing – Real Estate aspect considered an asset.
- Strong leader with excellent communication and team building skills encouraging a collaborative working environment.
- Professional who is looking to immerse themselves in Real Estate and Construction within their local market.
- Skilled problem solver who is results orientated in achieving targets and goals with a proven ability to build relationships during this difficult processes.
- Excellent oral, written, interpersonal and presentation skills who can meet senior internal and external executives with confidence and assurance in your work.
