Intermediate to Senior Hydrogeologist
Responsibilities-duties
- Lead diverse projects; envision and manage technical, logistical, and financial aspects, and carry out deliverables from proposal stage through to commissioning.
- Have good working knowledge of legislation and regulations as they pertain to Hydrogeological/environmental standards and have led a wide range of environmental monitoring programs.
- Plan, coordinate and supports the execution of field programs, including intrusive investigations.
- Prepare sound technical recommendations and conclusions.
- Prepare draft technical memos, reports, and deliverables including but not limited to hydrogeological report, environmental investigation reports, remedial design, monitoring reports, and permitting
- carry out background documentation review, coordinate field investigations, complete data analysis, and prepare reports to document findings.
- coordinate and manage field investigations, including single well response testing, groundwater sampling, drilling (both borehole and well installations), and oversee pumping test investigations.
- collaborate closely with other disciplines within SPCL with respect to multi-faceted/multi-disciplinary projects.
- prepare technical and financial proposals for both internal and external clients.
- Collect and evaluate field measurements and record data in clear and concise field notes
- Data compilation, interpretation, and analysis of geotechnical and hydrogeological field and analytical data for technical reports
- Assist in the preparation of data tables, stratigraphic logs, and figures, as required
- Develop and manage strong relationships with new and existing clients, field personnel, government and regulatory agencies and expand company’s network.
- Mentor and/or coach staff.
- Provide practical and economic solutions to clients that differentiate the team.
- Ensuring proper implementation and continued use of safety and quality assurance programs and corporate policies and procedures, including Ethics and Compliance.
Qualifications
- A master degree in geology, hydrogeology, geological engineering, or other related disciplines along with 6 – 10 years relevant experience. A post-graduate degree specializing in hydrogeology is an asset.
- Registered as or eligible to register as a Professional Engineer and/or Professional Geologist.
- Proven experience in writing successful proposals, work plans and conducting business development is mandatory.
- Experience working in a consulting environment at a senior project management level. Formal project management training will be considered an asset.
- An ability and willingness to work on field assignments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in the English language.
- Solid organization and time management abilities.
- Good interpersonal skills combined with a positive, team-oriented attitude.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Plan, organize and oversee all hydrogeology activities.
- Assist in monitoring budgets.
- Experience in communicating and building relationships with clients
