Nationally renowned Mechanical Contractor with a growing pipeline of challenging projects throughout Metro Vancouver are looking to add an Estimator to their team. With a strong focus on sustainability and company culture our client is keen to find someone who has 3-4 years of Estimating experience with a strong preference for Vancouver/Lower Mainland projects.

Projects vary from small scale TI to large scale ground up residential and ICI work. Continuously growing and aiming to be one of the leading contractors in Vancouver there are openings for both junior and senior professionals who like to work hard and mentor other team members.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Chief Estimator and full preconstruction team in devising costs for entire mechanical scope of work bidding projects in the Greater Vancouver market.
  • Assist team with bid analysis ensuring accuracy on all estimated projects to acquire work for the business.
  • Coordinate with construction team as required to assist in creating schedule for each project.
  • Complete bids in a timely manner ensuring to meet deadlines.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with General Contractors, other sub trades and all suppliers.
  • Assist construction team as requested with reports, drawings and technical documentation.
  • Fine tune with other estimators and Chief Estimator processes ensuring the most accurate bids and achieving success with all bids.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years experience as a Estimator, candidates must have full project cycle knowledge including successful bids within the market.
  • Market experience with any of the following; ICI, Education, Healthcare and Residential.
  • Great communication skills both verbal and written for reports, emails, admin and project updates to all parties.
  • Highly organized in a collaborative work environment assisting to create the best opportunities for success. 
  • Skilled with construction estimating software, value engineering, shop drawings, construction management/schedules and reports.
  • Preferable for local knowledge and Mechanical/Construction Management education but years of experience will be considered.
