About you

As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for the management of the project including site management, site safety and project implementation – this can include skilled labour, quality control and trade management. You will guide the effective development of new and existing projects.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Daily, weekly, and monthly project review with respect to day-to-day operations of construction schedules
  • Review and monitor and interpret contract law and lien legislation
  • Motivate and provide assistance to personnel by providing direction and consultation
  • Coordinate and assist in developing, monitoring and enforcing quality control program for assigned project
  • Assist in preparation and monitoring of the project schedule working along site superintendents and subcontractors for further insight and collaboration
  • Work in conjunction with respect departments and as well as MS project coordination
  • Coordinate and manage site superintendents inclusive to assigned projects
  • Review, monitor, and maintain labor budgets with site superintendent and ensure budgetary compliance is adhered to
  • Review, monitor, and maintain construction budgetary compliance and inform construction manager of any variances or issues inclusive to assigned projects
  • Review and monitor subcontractor’s scope of work
  • Monitor and manage charge backs inclusive to assigned projects
  • Negotiate change orders inclusive to assigned projects
  • Provides and maintains conflict resolution
  • Enforcement of subcontract contractual agreements in a diplomatic and effective method
  • Report issues to Construction manager
  • Review and monitor minutes from subtrade meetings inclusive to assigned projects
  • Ensure all projects as assigned are maintaining a safe work environment by meeting or exceeding provincial regulations
  • Work in conjunction with project engineers, inspectors, stakeholders and/or other entities as needed
  • Assist assigned sites as required leading up to occupancy with coordination of special tasks and requirements as assigned by CM
  • Participate in Pre-Occupancy inspections
  • Mentor and Train site superintendents and site foreman
  • Assist with Trade relations as required
  • Attend Industry events including Workshops, Training, Conference, and similar

 

Requirements:

  • Degree or Diploma in Project Management preferred
  • 5 or more years of experience in wood frame, multifamily construc
  • 3 or more years of experience in a project manager or similar role
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Knowledge of current building codes for assigned markets
  • Knowledge of project plans and specifications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with ability to relay information in a concise and effective manner
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to work in a deadline driven work environment with changing priorities
  • Experience reading building plans and specifications and interpret / apply applicable codes and by-laws
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an emphasis on team interaction and strengthening / streamlining processes
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
