PROJECT MANAGER — CIVIL CONSTRUCTION

Our client is looking for a Project Manager who knows civil construction from the ground up — someone who can manage budgets, own client relationships, drive schedules, and keep crews accountable without losing sight of what's happening in the field.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage civil construction projects from award through to closeout — budget, schedule, quality, and safety
- Develop and maintain project schedules; proactively identify and mitigate risks to the critical path
- Prepare and manage project budgets; monitor costs, forecast spend, and manage change orders
- Lead project meetings with clients, consultants, municipal authorities, and internal teams
- Review and negotiate subcontract agreements, purchase orders, and supplier contracts
- Work closely with the Superintendent to coordinate site resources, equipment, and production
- Oversee progress billing, project reporting, and financial forecasting
- Manage RFIs, submittals, and contract correspondence in a timely manner
- Ensure all work is delivered in compliance with contract documents, safety plans, and regulatory requirements
- 5+ years of project management experience in civil construction (excavation, utilities, roads)
- Demonstrated track record of delivering projects on time and on budget
- Strong understanding of civil construction means and methods, contract management, and cost control
- Experience managing municipal or provincial infrastructure projects preferred
- Proficient in MS Project, Procore, Bluebeam, or equivalent PM tools
- Post-secondary education in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- PMP certification an asset
- Strong client-facing communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously
