PROJECT MANAGER — CIVIL CONSTRUCTION

Our client is looking for a Project Manager who knows civil construction from the ground up — someone who can manage budgets, own client relationships, drive schedules, and keep crews accountable without losing sight of what's happening in the field.

ABOUT OUR CLIENT
An established civil subcontractor delivering municipal infrastructure, underground utility, and road construction projects across Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley. They have a strong backlog, a skilled field team, and are looking for a PM who can step in and lead projects end-to-end.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage civil construction projects from award through to closeout — budget, schedule, quality, and safety
  • Develop and maintain project schedules; proactively identify and mitigate risks to the critical path
  • Prepare and manage project budgets; monitor costs, forecast spend, and manage change orders
  • Lead project meetings with clients, consultants, municipal authorities, and internal teams
  • Review and negotiate subcontract agreements, purchase orders, and supplier contracts
  • Work closely with the Superintendent to coordinate site resources, equipment, and production
  • Oversee progress billing, project reporting, and financial forecasting
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, and contract correspondence in a timely manner
  • Ensure all work is delivered in compliance with contract documents, safety plans, and regulatory requirements
WHAT YOU BRING
  • 5+ years of project management experience in civil construction (excavation, utilities, roads)
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering projects on time and on budget
  • Strong understanding of civil construction means and methods, contract management, and cost control
  • Experience managing municipal or provincial infrastructure projects preferred
  • Proficient in MS Project, Procore, Bluebeam, or equivalent PM tools
  • Post-secondary education in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  • PMP certification an asset
  • Strong client-facing communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously
