Leading Asset Management and Investment firm based in North Vancouver are looking to add a Senior Accountant to their team. The company owns and manages mostly retail and commercial property throughout Canada with a limited investment in residential properties. We are looking for a Senior Accountant who has experience in full-cycle corporate and property accounting who will report directly to the company controller.
Responsibilities:
- Prepares property and corporate financial statements.
- Full-Cycle Accounting duties including budget preparations, monthly journal entries, balance sheets, assurance, tax compliance and year end reconciliations.
- Identifies and recognizes accounting discrepancies by analyzing all company data and financial reporting.
- Liaises with Property and Leasing department for all necessary accounting information.
- Ability to implement changes and make recommendations to accounting policies and procedures ensuring we are utilizing all tools to streamline tasks and reporting for accuracy.
- Works with tenants for any accounting needs or information which is needed.
- Bank reconciliations and monthly reporting ensuring accuracy with all transactions.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Third level education in Accounting/Finance or similar field.
- Preference for someone with CPA or in-line to complete CPA.
- Ideally looking for someone with 5 years experience in the Metro Vancouver market.
- Growing knowledge and responsibilities with general and accounting practices and principles.
- Strong use of accounting IT software systems (Sage)
- Strong MS Office skills (Excel).
