Main Responsibilities
- Take lead role on projects, liaising directly with the client/owners, and be responsible for ensuring the delivery of the project on time and on budget.
- Responsible for overall forecasting, cost management, contingency planning, and securing the profitability of the project.
- Contribute technical direction to the pre-award process, planning, and estimating, and during construction, act as a technical resource for the project team.
- Review and negotiate contracts, liaising with legal counsel and Estimating as appropriate in conjunction with the leadership team.
- Review and approve ongoing progress billings.
- Work with all on-site personnel, as required, to identify and resolve issues, ensure quality control, and support the overall project schedule and goals.
- Work with the Operations team from the start of each project to ensure they understand the project scope – start-up, QC, LEEDS requirements, and project closeout forms.
- Create and maintain project schedules in collaboration with General Superintendent and Project Coordinator.
- Develop and maintain successful client/owner relationships on behalf of the business
- Prepare and process change orders and extra work orders with support as needed from the Estimating team.
- Oversee scheduled deliverables with Operations.
- Manage financial aspects of contracts to protect the company’s interests and maintain strong relationships with client.
- Manage resources (manpower, equipment and materials) with operations from beginning to end with attention to budgetary limitations.
Requirements
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience in earthworks/ shoring/underground utilities.
- Must possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written with superior interpersonal and relationship management skills.
- Proficient with Timberline, Bluebeam, Agtek, Microsoft Project, Adobe, and all Microsoft Office programs.
- Post-secondary education Degree (i.e. Project Engineering, Project Management, Civil Engineering Technology).
