We are currently looking for an experienced Construction Site Supervisor to join our client. The Construction Site Supervisor will work closely together with the Project Manager and report directly to the Dept. Manager.

Responsibilities and Duties
As Site Supervisor you will oversee the construction activities (valued at $10M and under) which take place on the worksite and will involved in the supervision of site crew and subcontractors. You will work closely with the Project Manager to ensure a quality, timely and cost-efficient delivery of the assigned project by assisting in the planning and implementation of the construction worksite.
Key responsibilities:

  • Direct and supervise project site operations in the delivery of schedules, quality control, budget control, health & safety, risk management, employees and IPAC
  • Ensure assigned projects are completed according to the contract documents
  • Site orientation of all workers/visitors on site
  • Sub-trade coordination
  • Enforcement of safety on site, IP&C (Infection Prevention & Control) plans, ensuring all laborer’s and sub-trades adhere to protocols and guidelines – Safe Work Procedures. Conducting and documenting regular safety meetings, ensuring proper PPE is worn at all times, daily job hazard assessments, etc.
  • Accept, verify and organize delivered materials on-site in step with the progress of construction
  • Willingness to be a working Site Supervisor when the project requires
  • Flexible with their schedules and available to work overtime, nights and Saturdays as required in order to complete Project related tasks.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience in Healthcare and commercial construction considered an asset
  • Knowledge of construction materials, methods and equipment
  • Experience in reading construction drawings
  • Experience operating construction equipment an asset (i.e. skid steer, scissor lift, etc.)
  • Experience working on design build projects considered an asset
  • Understanding of Mechanical and Electrical principles, systems and technologies
  • Solid understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and safe work practices
  • Familiar with the CSA Z317 Effective Implementation of Infection Control During the Construction, Renovation and Maintenance in Health Care Facilities, considered an asset, however training will be provided.
