About the Role:
- Drive the development and implementation of an integrated management system across all Irish sites in accordance with OHSAS18001 (ISO45001), ISO14001, and ISO22000 requirements.
- Lead on the specific requirements of the COMAH regulations, as they apply across the business, and liaison with the Competent Authority.
- Assist site managers and teams in meeting all applicable Environmental Health and Safety legislation, with a focus on IPPC License, COMAH, and other “high-risk environment” legislation.
- Monitor and interpret new/changing environmental, health, and safety legislation, ensuring that the requirements are effectively communicated and incorporated into our management systems.
- Drive the company-wide Environmental Health and Safety training programme to ensure that all compliance and other relevant training requirements are fully identified, delivered, and recorded.
- Provide specialist Environmental Health and Safety support and assistance to operations teams on a daily basis, including but not limited to compliance obligations, accident and incident investigations and reporting, root cause analysis, risk assessment, corrective and preventive actions, training, and so on.
- Implement and maintain all Risk Assessment requirements in accordance with Irish legislation.
- Support the training, coaching, and development of site managers and teams across Irish operations and serve as the go-to person for environmental, health, and safety advice.
- Assist in the collection, preparation, and analysis of data gathered in support of Environmental Health and Safety targets, objectives, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Ensure that the sites are in compliance with the Integrated Pollution Prevention Control (IPPC) license and all other environmental legislation.
- All emissions from the site, including effluent, noise, fumes, odor, and all waste streams, as defined in the IPPC License, must be monitored and reported.
- Completion of the annual Pollution Release Transfer Report for the site (PRTR).
- Annual Risk Based Methodology Enforcement of the site (RBME).
What you need to apply:
- A degree in a related discipline (Occupational Health & Safety and/or Environmental Science/Engineering) is required.
- 5 years + of experience in roles involving Environmental Health and Safety Compliance
- Ability to work on one’s own initiative, to be self-motivated, and to manage time effectively
- Capability to exert influence at all organizational levels
- Exhibits thorough knowledge and understanding of all relevant local Environmental Health and Safety legislation (including IPPC License, COMAH/SEVESO/ATEX awareness).
- Excellent public speaking abilities and knowledge of environmental health and safety laws
- Safety and Environmental Health experience with internal auditing
- understanding and practical application of flammable and explosive atmosphere laws
