My Client are a leading International Engineering Consultancy who are seeking a strong Structural Engineer (Design) who wants the opportunity to apply their creative skills on challenging, high profile projects in their stimulating, inter-disciplinary design studio in Dublin.
The successful Structural Engineer will have a unique opportunity to work on a diverse range of challenging infrastructure designs in residential, education, retail, workplace, hotel and aviation.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare structural design calculations and 3D analysis modelling of projects from the concept stage through to the construction stage.
- Interface with the C&S team and other multi-disciplinary teams within the office.
- Express creative ideas through sketching.
- Communicate effectively to build firm working relationships with architects, engineers, clients and contractors.
- Attend stakeholder & site meetings when required.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or other relevant discipline.
- 3 to 4 years post-qualification experience in structural design ideally gained within a consultancy environment.
- Strong experience in structural design of building structures.
- Strong experience in software related to building structures (Tekla or SCIA).
- Capable of working on his/ her own initiative with limited supervision.
- An ability to manage the day to day assigned design tasks on projects.
- Highly motivated and passionate about delivering design projects.
- Organised and methodical with particular attention to detail.
- The ability to prioritise tasks and work to tight deadlines under pressure.
- Have a pragmatic approach and possess strong problem-solving techniques.
- Good interpersonal skills, able to build relationships with other design team members.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with an ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy.
