Our client, a well-established and rapidly growing residential developer in the Fraser Valley, is seeking an experienced
Accountant to join their finance team.
Specializing in multi-family developments including townhomes and condominiums, this company has built a strong reputation for delivering quality projects that enhance local communities.
The Role: This is a great opportunity for a detail-oriented and proactive accountant with experience in the
construction or property development sector. Reporting to senior finance leadership, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting project accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and month-end processes.
Key Responsibilities: - Maintain accurate financial records for multiple residential projects
- Assist with month-end and year-end closings
- Prepare project cost reports and reconcile budgets vs. actuals
- Manage accounts payable/receivable and general ledger entries
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate job costing
- Support external audit and tax preparation processes
Requirements: - 3+ years of accounting experience, with at least 1 year in residential construction or property development
- Strong understanding of job costing and construction project financials
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. Sage 300 CRE, Yardi, or similar)
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities
- CPA designation (or working towards) is an asset
Location: The role is based full-time in the Abbotsford office, with a collaborative team and strong leadership support.
