Job Summary Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized
Billing Clerk to join their construction company in British Columbia. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of client billing, including preparing and issuing invoices, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with contract terms.
Key Responsibilities - Prepare and issue accurate invoices based on construction contracts, progress billing, and completed milestones.
- Reconcile accounts receivable and track billing progress for multiple ongoing projects.
- Verify and ensure compliance with contract terms, including retainage, payment schedules, and lien releases.
- Process and monitor change orders, adjustments, and variations in billing.
- Collaborate with project managers, estimators, and other departments to gather necessary billing details and resolve discrepancies.
- Follow up on outstanding payments, maintain an organized accounts receivable ledger, and prepare aging reports.
- Ensure all billing aligns with provincial tax regulations and industry standards.
- Generate regular financial reports and assist with audits related to billing and project finances.
- Maintain accurate records of all transactions, contracts, and documentation in compliance with company policies.
Qualifications and Skills - Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field (required).
- 3- 5 years of experience in a billing, accounts receivable, or similar financial role, preferably in the construction industry.
- Proficiency in accounting and billing software (e.g. Microsoft Eclipse).
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Familiarity with construction-related billing practices, including progress billing is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of British Columbia’s tax regulations and construction invoicing standards is an asset.
