Our client needs a Civil Superintendent who can take ownership of the job site from mobilization to closeout. ABOUT OUR CLIENT A respected civil subcontractor with an active portfolio of municipal infrastructure, underground utility, and road construction projects across Metro Vancouver and the surrounding region. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - Oversee all site-level construction activities across one or multiple active projects
- Lead and coordinate foremen, crews, equipment operators, and subcontractors
- Develop and maintain construction schedules; identify and resolve scheduling risks
- Manage day-to-day interface with city inspectors, consultants, and the client
- Conduct and document site safety meetings, pre-task planning, and incident reporting
- Review drawings, specifications, and change orders for constructability and accuracy
- Monitor project costs, labour productivity, and material usage against budget
- Provide daily reporting and progress updates to the Project Manager
- Ensure all work meets quality standards, contract requirements, and WorkSafeBC regulations
WHAT YOU BRING - 8+ years in civil construction with at least 3 years in a Superintendent or Senior Foreman role
- Strong background in excavation, underground utilities (storm, sanitary, watermain), and/or road construction
- Proven ability to manage multiple crews and subcontractors simultaneously
- Solid understanding of civil drawings, specifications, and contract documents
- Experience working directly with municipal and provincial inspectors
- NCSO certification (or equivalent) strongly preferred
- OFA Level 3, Confined Space, Traffic Control — current certifications an asset
- Valid driver's licence; clean abstract
- Strong leadership presence with clear written and verbal communication skills
