Construction Estimator - ICI (New Build)

�� Salary: $80,000 - $120,000 (based on experience)
About the Role
We are recruiting on behalf of a reputable and growing General Contractor in Ottawa seeking an experienced Estimator with a strong background in new build ICI construction projects.
This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a deadline-driven environment and has successfully priced commercial, institutional, or light industrial ground-up projects.
Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed and conceptual cost estimates for new build ICI projects
• Perform quantity take-offs and scope analysis across all trades
• Review drawings, specifications, addenda, and tender documents
• Solicit, analyze, and level subcontractor and supplier pricing
• Identify scope gaps, risks, exclusions, and cost-saving opportunities
• Participate in bid strategy meetings and go/no-go decisions
• Assist with value engineering and budget development during preconstruction
• Maintain organized bid documentation and cost databases
• Support handoff meetings with Project Management and Site teams

Qualifications

• 5+ years of estimating experience with a General Contractor
• Proven experience pricing ground-up ICI construction projects
• Strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and trade scopes
• Experience on projects valued $5M+ preferred
• Familiarity with CCDC contracts and tendering procedures
• Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., PlanSwift, Bluebeam, OST, Excel)
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
