Construction Project Manager

Position Title: Construction Project Manager

Responsibilities:
  • Manage the construction process for various commercial and multi-residential projects, with a focus on pre-construction and project execution.
  • Oversee and contribute to the tender/procurement process for related projects.
  • Maintain project and contract documents, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and quality.
  • Manage relationships with general contractors, construction managers, consultants, and subtrades.
  • Create and maintain construction budgets from design development to final working drawings.
  • Coordinate cross-departmental activities with Sales and Marketing, Development, and Property Management/Leasing teams.
  • Lead consultant and project meetings, providing input on constructability and value engineering.
  • Develop and maintain construction project schedules using software tools.
  • Audit project schedules during construction to ensure projects remain on target.
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize delays and cost overruns.
  • Review and manage project change orders and design changes during construction.
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices, implementing innovative techniques to improve efficiency and reduce construction costs.
  • Provide construction cash flow assessments for related projects as needed.
  • Coordinate and execute on-site and off-site utilities work with relevant consultants, third-party utility companies, and municipalities.
  • Oversee construction activities and management of Tenant Improvement projects for income-producing properties.
  • Manage municipal permit applications related to construction and support the development permit process.
  • Review and approve monthly invoicing related to construction managers, general contracts, and subtrades.
  • Maintain a database of current construction rates and industry trends.
  • Represent the best interests of the company in all internal and external dealings.
Requirements:
  • Post-secondary education in Building Technology, Construction Management, Engineering, or similar field.
  • Proficiency in construction management software such as AutoCAD, MS Project, and Blue Beam is an asset.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • 4+ years of experience in a related role, such as Project Coordinator, Estimator, or Project Manager.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to develop positive relationships with stakeholders to achieve business objectives.
  • Superior project management skills, including prioritization, planning, and organization.
 Salary Range: $110,000 to $130,000
