About the Company
Our client is a well-established real estate development and construction group with a strong track record of delivering residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects across Western Canada. They are seeking a skilled Controller to join their finance team and play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and cash flow management.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee year-end working papers and consolidation
• Prepare and manage monthly loan draws to banks
• Generate project cost reports for Quantity Surveyors and conduct budget vs. actual reporting and analysis
• Perform cash management and complete monthly bank reconciliations
• Ensure timely monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Manage full cycle monthly accounting, including AR, AP, GST, WCB, T4, and T5 (note: payroll is handled by an external provider)
• Prepare and post month-end journal entries
• Assist with budgeting and cash flow reports
• Complete tax filings for bare trusts, dormant entities, and partnerships

Qualifications

• CPA designation (or in final stages of completion) preferred
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, Must be in real estate development, construction, or related industries
• Strong knowledge of Canadian accounting standards and tax compliance
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency with accounting software and MS Excel
