Design Manager - Major Projects

We are looking for a Design Manager to lead and oversee electrical and technology design projects from concept through completion.

Projects range from $30M–$400M and typically span 3–7 years. This role is ideal for someone with a strong technical background in electrical or technology systems, exceptional communication and leadership skills, and a passion for innovative, cost-effective solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design process for electrical/technology construction projects, ensuring technical accuracy and constructability
  • Apply engineering principles to review, validate, and optimize system designs
  • Coordinate designs with project planning, budgets, and schedules
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and safety regulations
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to team members
  • Act as the technical liaison with internal and external stakeholders
  • Participate in design and construction meetings with owners, contractors, and vendors
  • Collaborate with engineering teams, consultants, and subcontractors to develop detailed drawings and specifications
Experience & Skills:
  • 5+ years in a design leadership role for multi-million-dollar, multi-year construction projects
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional teams through the design development process
  • Strong knowledge of electrical/technology systems design and construction for buildings
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
  • Strong understanding of codes, standards, and construction practices
  • Experience with modeling, MS Office, BIM viewing software; familiarity with Revit, AutoCAD, Procore, or scheduling software is a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
