My client is a Global Manufacturing Company seeking a Hybrid EHS Manager for a permanent role based in Killarney.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Overseeing all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) operations within the organisation, including installation projects and activities occurring beyond the manufacturing facility.
  • Providing guidance on the company's health and safety policy and practices, supporting individual Managers and Supervisors in its implementation.
  • Initiating projects aimed at fostering a culture of Safety and Environmental awareness, excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Directing the management, development, and coordination of the EHS team.
  • Formulating and executing annual improvement plans for EHS, collaborating with departmental management teams.
  • Conducting internal audits and inspections of the EHS system to ensure its ongoing enhancement.
  • Regularly inspecting plants and workplaces for compliance with health and safety policies, making recommendations as needed.
  • Keeping management informed about new legislation, codes of practice, and other factors impacting safety, health, and welfare.
  • Collaborating with the site management team, site safety representatives, and the workforce to effectively manage EHS.
  • Periodically reviewing and revising emergency response procedures.
  • Periodically reviewing and updating the company's safety statement.
  • Establishing EHS objectives, targets, and management programs to drive continuous improvement.
  • Creating specific site Method Statements, Risk Assessments, Site Inductions, and Safe Systems of Work for both factory and site operations.
  • Managing hazardous waste materials and ensuring compliance with license requirements.
Requirements
  • Relevant H&S Qualification
  • Minimum of 2 years’ Health & Safety Manager experience 
  • Excellent Communication Skills
