About the Client
Our client is an established electrical engineering contractor delivering installation, upgrade and maintenance projects for major clients. The business supports commercial, industrial, infrastructure, public-sector and mission-critical environments, with a clear focus on safe delivery, technical quality and long-term client relationships.

The successful candidate will support the preparation of competitive and fully compliant tenders while building practical experience in measurement, supplier engagement, pricing and bid administration.

This position will work closely with project leadership, commercial, design, planning and supply-chain stakeholders, providing clear ownership of the role's key deliverables and helping the wider team achieve programme, quality, safety and financial objectives.

Key Responsibilities
• Review enquiry documents and assist with the preparation of compliant tender submissions.
• Complete basic measurements and quantity take-offs from drawings, specifications and schedules.
• Issue supplier and subcontract enquiries and maintain accurate quotation records.
• Support pricing build-ups for labour, materials, plant and subcontract packages.
• Assist with tender queries, clarifications, addenda and bid-document control.
• Maintain estimating databases, historical cost information and tender trackers.
• Support tender adjudications and the preparation of bid handover information.
• Work closely with design, commercial and operational colleagues to understand project scope and risk.

Candidate Profile
• Early-career estimating, engineering or construction experience, with a genuine interest in pre-construction.
• Able to interpret drawings and specifications and work accurately with quantities and cost information.
• Confident using Excel; experience with estimating software would be beneficial.
• Organised, inquisitive and able to manage deadlines across multiple tender activities.

Requirements & Experience
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, schedules and tender documentation.
• Strong Excel skills; experience with specialist estimating software is advantageous.
• Ability to travel to and work from the Oxford location as required.
