My Client are a leading International Modular Contractor who specialise in the manufacture and build of large scale modular projects. They are seeking an experienced Electrical BIM Engineer to join their busy design team providing models and clash detection reports on various project types including but not limited to Residential, High-rise Healthcare & Commercial developments.
For the successful Electrical BIM Engineer this is a permanent role that offers long-term opportunities for career development in the areas of 3D Modelling, BIM, Information Management & Engineering, working on projects based in the US, Europe, Ireland and the UK.
Responsibilities: - Utilize BIM software to model electrical components for project delivery, under the direction of the Building Systems Manger, including supply infrastructure and associated finish elements
- Manage schedule and deliverables for assigned projects, reporting progress and flagging delays when necessary to Building Systems Manger
- Review project design engineer modelling and documentation to ensure compliance with VMX Blueprint, VMX specifications, and operative building codes during the design process
- Organize and run project-based production documentation meetings to monitor drawing progress, clash detection, and coordination with Project Designer | Project Architect, MEP, and Structural disciplines
- Work with assigned Project Designer | Architect and Design Operations representative to provide a fully coordinated digital project model prior to production documentation and subsequent start of manufacturing
- Advise and assist Manufacturing Project Manager and Construction Project Manager with any production or construction drawing related RFIs and ECRs
- Work with the Building Systems Manager and Design Technology team to generate and maintain standard BIM component and detail libraries
- Advise and assist Product Design team in the revision and improvement of manufacturing and construction standard details and components
- Work with Building Systems Manager and Design Technology team to generate and maintain relevant standard schedules, templates, and checklists
- Aid in the production of the BIM manual with respect to electrical systems modelling, documentation, standards, and training process
- Mentor and train junior members of the Building Systems team
- Maintain open communication with manufacturing and construction teams on a project-by-project basis to ensure faithful and profitable execution of Projects
- Travel expected 4-8 times a year
Minimum Qualifications: - Minimum of 5 Years of relevant experience required
- Revit proficiency required
- Additional BIM software proficiency preferred
- Component design software proficiency required
- Previous experience in electrical design is required
- Familiarity with North American building codes is beneficial but not required as full training will be provided
- Volumetric modular construction component design experience is preferred
- Microsoft Office Suite proficiency required
- Must have a positive attitude and be able to function as part of a team
- Must be detail-oriented and comfortable with manufacturing processes and standards
- Must have the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Must be an independent problem-solver and appreciate a fast-paced work environment.
- Must be based in Ireland.
